Another Pioneer Promotion

We are pleased to announce a recent promotion to Senior Project Manager for another Pioneer staff member, Kimberly Hempel. Kim started working as a Project Manager for Pioneer’s environmental engineering and assessment group in June 2014, and has over 15 years of experience in the environmental industry. In her time with Pioneer, she has conducted and provided oversight for numerous environmental site assessments, risk assessments and remedial approaches for residential, commercial and industrial properties in multiple states. Kim has managed regulatory closure projects working with the Illinois EPA’s Site Remediation Program (SRP) and Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) program, and successfully obtained nearly 35 No Further Remediation (NFR) letters from both. She has also directed and provided oversight of extensive asbestos and petroleum cleanup activities at a USEPA-regulated site under an Administrative Order. Currently, she is serving as the Project Coordinator for a former bulk petroleum storage facility in Washington State, which is under a Prospective Purchaser Consent Decree (PPCD) with the Washington Department of Ecology, and recently performed oversight of the cleanup activities which were completed in December 2021.

Congratulations Kim, and we look forward to working with you for many years to come.
