Pioneer was contracted in March of 2023 to perform materials testing services for a proposed industrial warehouse. The planned warehouse area and surrounding site encompassed approximately 17 acres of land previously used for agricultural purposes.
During the material testing scope of work, Pioneer worked with the general contractor and subcontractors to remediate unsuitable subgrade issues, including providing appropriate recommendations, monitoring, inspection services, and remediation via lime stabilization in multiple areas where potentially costly removal and replacement of unsuitable material would otherwise be necessary. Pioneer also performed observation and testing of critical construction materials per ASTM and project design specifications, with services that included soil testing, aggregate backfill placement, concrete placement and strength testing, concrete steel reinforcement, structural steel, pavement installation, and floor flatness/levelness testing of finished concrete. Further, Pioneer ensured successful compliance and quality assurance during construction activities.
