Pioneer was contracted in May of 2023 to perform materials testing services for a unique proposed private residence. The site consisted of approximately 3.3 acres of lakefront property in the Winnetka area.
The unique location and design incorporate an indoor basketball court, a pool and an attached pool house on a beautiful lakefront site. The project is a one of a kind undertaking that posed unique challenges, giving Pioneer an opportunity to showcase our experience and knowledge in the field of materials testing. As part of the scope of work, Pioneer partnered with the general contractor and subcontractors to perform observation and testing of critical construction materials per ASTM specifications and those provided in project plans, such as caisson inspections, soil testing, aggregate backfill placement, concrete placement and strength testing, post tensioning testing, concrete steel reinforcement, structural steel, and pavement installation.
