Pioneer has staff licensed to conduct asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and lead-based paint (LBP) testing in commercial and multi-unit residential buildings and has conducted pre-demolition ACM surveys on a multitude of building types. The scope of work typically involves identifying friable and non-friable ACMs and/or chipping and peeling LBP that may represent potential health hazards.
Since federal regulations did not prohibit the use of friable ACMs and LBP until the late 1970s, structures built prior to that era are most susceptible to these potential dangers. As driven by the scope of work and needs of the client, representative samples are collected and shipped to an independent laboratory for proper analysis using the appropriate analytical testing methodologies. Pioneer then reviews the data and prepares written reports to document the conditions and provides recommendations to handle ACMs and LBP in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
